Multiple Drafts:
We have gone through multiple drafts with discussion on how to improve the video. We have now eventually got to the final product with issues with sound and narrative being changed.

Main Change we have made:
Due to the fewer participants we were able to collect and film due to the COVID-19 outbreak we have made one main change to the project:
The change has improved the sequence in my opinion. With it being two individuals side by side it is more personal to them rather than there being 10 or so on a screen and it being slightly clunky.

Mock Up issues

From the first adapted edit Irina didn't quite do what we agreed on with the adapted storyboard. After the map sequence we wanted it to go straight into the side by side shots, however in the first mock up the full shot was used for three different people having something in common, which really slowed down the pace. Therefore in the second mock up the side by side was used for every similarity.
The side by side shot somewhat does what we intended to do with the collage shot, but of course with less people. In some sense it works even better as it's a side by side comparison and empthasises their physical differences (the purpose of this sequence)
Group Meetings:
Fortunately Irina has the footage on her laptop so is able to still edit from home. Therefore, we have discussions on Whatsapp for any changes that should be made to the project to make it the best it can be. It's not as easy doing this over messaging as not everything typed is as easily understood and when something is misinterpreted it can become very long winded. For example, a new edit is made and the thing that was misinterpreted is still wrong. Although there are difficulties we are still able to get points across and there are a lot of positive changes to the video!

MAIN CHANGE
Instead of collage sequence we will just do a side by side shot and map is animated not physical map.

Corona Outbreak Adaptations:
Due to the corona outbreak we have realised that our project plan as it was would be unobtainable; so we have had to make multiple adaptions. After messaging over the past weeks we have decided:
1.) We are now unable to achieve the desired 50 participants, however we have already got footage of around 20 participants that we will be able to use for a final video. Instead of the full collage screen we will show two people side by side that have a common interest but are different in physical characteristics.
2.) Due to the outbreak and the most at risk people being the elderly we were unable to get any people of the age of 60 and above. This is unfortunate but is very understandable given the circumstances. Although there isn't a significant representation of a diverse age there is still some range there and there is also a lot of diversity in other aspects i.e ethnicity and sexuality.
3.) We didn't get people to put the pins in the map of their nationality during the shoots we did, as we were going to do this in a later shoot. As we already prepared a plan B for this, an animated map, we will be looking to do it like that rather than using a physical map.
